The liberation struggle of the Palestinian people is just – freedom for Palestine!

Stand up against Israel’s barbaric state-terrorist attack on the Palestinian people…

… for the war in Palestine today is nothing else. Israel (according to dpa) dropped 1000 tons of bombs on targets in Gaza in two days between October 9 and 11. The most densely populated Gaza Strip continues to be bombed every day by the Israeli Air Force. On the borders with Gaza, the highly armed Israeli army has been positioned and is waiting for its order to deploy the ground offensive. Currently, Gaza is under a total blockade by Israel.

The bombing of Israel from 9 October to 18 October has left more than 3 500 dead and over 10 thousand seriously injured in Gaza. The Palestinian population in the north of Gaza has been urged by the Israeli army to leave their land, belongings and move „south“. It is about over a million people who have now become refugees in their own country in order to save their bare lives.

This is a barbaric, no-rules, terrorist warfare by Israel against the Palestinian people. It is a lie for the Israeli wartime government, with the support of all Western imperialist powers, to claim that it is fighting against „Hamas terrorists„, that it is only defending itself!

The bombs that are being dropped on Gaza by the ton are hitting the Palestinian people, who are now also internally displaced in their own country, where they have been living in an open prison since the founding of the State of Israel. What has been announced and is now taking place is ethnic cleansing, an expulsion from the northern part of Gaza. If Israel can enforce this, the rest of Gaza will be overrun as well!

The next step will be the invasion of the Palestinian remaining territories of the West Bank. The Zionists in Israel don’t care what happens to the displaced Palestinians. Their plan in Gaza is aimed at forcing them to „emigrate“ to Egypt as the immediate closest Arab neighboring state. In the Sinai desert, relatively far away from Israel, the Palestinians are then to be „accommodated“ in refugee camps. This is the „dream“ of Zionist politicians, like Netanyahu, to solve the „Palestine problem“ in this way. Gaza and the West Bank are to be annexed in their entirety. In the „New Middle East“ map that Netanyahu held up at the last UN General Assembly in September, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were marked as territories of Israel. Israel „From the River to the Sea!“

However, the struggling Palestinian people stand as a bulwark on the verge of realizing this Zionist dream. Even the international solidarity of the peoples with the liberation struggle of the Palestinian people will not allow the Zionists to achieve this goal.

Even if the rulers in the Western imperialist countries declare that they support the Israeli state’s struggle against terrorism, they too cannot agree to Israel’s annexation of the remaining Palestinian territories. Because such an obviously colonialist step would turn the entire Middle East into a sea of fire and endanger their interests.

Hamas and Israel’s „defensive war against terrorism“?

According to Israeli figures, more than 1,300 people were brutally murdered and around 200 people were taken hostage in Hamas‘ „misanthropic, terrorist attack on Israel“. The fact is that Hamas attacked Israel on October 9 with over 5,000 rockets, according to its own statements.

Hamas fighters have entered Israel at the same time in various places near the border. They have indiscriminately murdered people or kidnapped them as hostages.

This was the largest military action by a Palestinian organization against Israel ever. It has done great damage to the myth of the invulnerability of the State of Israel.

The action of Hamas, which is an Islamist-fascist and anti-Semitic organization, was a terrorist action that arbitrarily hit people near the border. It is also terrorist when people who are captured are used as bargaining chips. All of this is to be condemned. We are against the Islamist-fascist-anti-Semitic organization Hamas and against its terrorist actions.

At the same time, however, this organization fights against the ever-expanding occupation of Palestinian territories, against the constant blockade and bombing of Gaza, against the seizure of land by the arch-Zionist „settlers“ in Gaza and the West Bank, and for the liberation of Palestine from colonialist oppression. It is part of the Palestinian liberation movement. As in every national liberation movement, there are organizations of all stripes, including the Palestinian one. Hamas is one of them. And given the weakness of the left-wing movement, Hamas is unfortunately one of the most decisive.

We communists are on the side of the Palestinian people in the struggle for their liberation. The action of Hamas was taken by the Zionist political caste as an opportunity to punish the entire Palestinian people! Starting with Gaza. The long-lasting expulsion of peoples is now taking on a new dimension. Yes, Hamas is an Islamic-fascist organization. But the dimensions of Israel’s state terrorist actions, as punishment and pretext in the name of the fight against terrorism, are incomparably larger.

Yes. Hamas holds about 200 people hostage. We condemn this. But in Israel’s prisons there are about 4,500 Palestinian fighters held hostage! Yes, not only that: Israel is preventing 2.4 million people from receiving water, basic food, medical aid… come.

Israeli Energy Minister Katz openly proclaims: „Humanitarian aid for Gaza? No electrical switch will be switched on, no tap will be turned on, no tanker truck will drive in until the kidnapped Israelis are back home. A humanitarian step in response to a humanitarian step. And no one should preach morality to us.“

200 against 2.4 million! This is the dimension of state terrorism against the Palestinian people. We are in favour of the hostages in the hands of Hamas being released immediately and without preconditions! At the same time, we are in favor of the release of the 4,500 Palestinian freedom fighters who are being held captive in Israeli prisons. And we are in favor of lifting the blockade against Gaza, which is directed against all human rights.

In Germany, the defense of Israel is a „reason of state.“ This is not understood to be the defense of Israel’s right to exist as a state, but the defense of Israel’s Zionist policy. Any justified criticism of the State of Israel and its policies is labeled as anti-Semitic, rejected and suppressed. In the current crisis, it has come to the point that the display of a Palestinian flag, the wearing of a Palestinian scarf is prohibited! This in a country that calls itself democratic. What hypocrisy!

We will not be silenced. We continue to support the Palestinian liberation movement. In doing so, we will continue to fight against anti-Jewish, anti-Semitic attitudes and actions in this movement and in society in general!

We are for Israel’s right to exist and at the same time against its Zionist policy.
